My photo

Although I have only recently started designing websites, many years experience of sales and advertising has taught me the importance of good promotional material which is clear, informative and easy to read.

I also have the advantage of solid secretarial training and experience, which has made accuracy and attention to detail second-nature.

POEMS FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS

Have you got an important event coming up that you would like to commemorate in a special way?

Perhaps it's an engagement, a birthday, an anniversary, a new home, a new job, a wedding, a christening, a confirmation, a birth, winning an award, passing your exams - the list of possibilities is endless.

You could have a poem written especially for you, which you could then frame and hang on the wall, as a reminder for ever of that special event.

The poems below are just a guide to the type of poem that you could have - please call or email to discuss your particular requirements.

HYMN FOR A BAPTISM

A day to recall as God's blessings are piled
Through baptism's waters on this little child
Whose parents have brought him to ask for God's grace
That His light may henceforth shine out of his face.

To outward appearances, all is the same,
But now his soul fights under Jesus's name;
He's joined a new family, linked to the cross;
The faith is his gain, and the world is his loss.

No longer adrift, without anchor to hold,
But safely enclosed in the Good Shepherd's fold.
The water has cleansed him of all of his sin,
And opened the door to let Christ enter in.

The cross on his forehead makes clear that his soul
Has cast off his old life, and has a new role
As part of God's kingdom, existing on earth,
His baptism marking a small child's rebirth.

The gift God imparts to him marks out this day,
The first of his journey to follow Christ's way.
A child, still but little, not powerful or wise,
But somehow more precious, His child in God's eyes.

The world may not care, and the foolish deride
That some chose to live out their lives at Christ's side;
But angels in heaven rejoice at the sight,
As another new baby now glows in Christ's light.

ON SOPHIE ANOUK'S BIRTH

No events shook the world twenty-first of September
But to Gabby and Tim it's a date to remember,
For that was the day that the stork brought a gift
At 8lbs 3oz quite heavy to lift;
But he managed; and Sophie Anouk flew around,
Seeking a place where love would abound.
At last she saw Elderberry Close, Number Five,
"That's the one.". The stork made a dive
Down to earth, with the babe in his beak;
He was glad they'd arrived, for the weight made him weak,
No. 5 made them welcome; Rick and Henry were thrilled;
They'd wanted a sister; their wishes fulfilled
They gazed on their baby who'd just flown to earth
Twenty-first of September, the day of her birth;
All crinkly and pink, like a sweet little gnome,
And already a part of her happy new home.

MICHAEL'S 40TH. BIRTHDAY

Michael - Micky - take your choice,
Now's the time you should rejoice.
You've reached at last the "Big Four O",
When life begins - it's now all "Go".
No longer young, but not yet old,
You're at the age which is extolled
For giving man (and women, too)
The chance to think and then review
Their life so far, and move ahead,
Doing all the things they've said
They'd like to do, but had no time
While they were moving up the line
Of college, job and family cares,
When no-one in their age group dares
To be adventurous, take a break
To do the sort of things that make
Their lives more fun; but now at last,
The days of serious things are past,
You're forty now: let life begin-
Light the candles - pass the gin.
